Carly Mattson
AERIAL YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Experience
After a back injury and years of chronic pain, Carly discovered Aerial Yoga in New York City in 2015. Through traction, gentle joint mobilization, and strengthening, she found relief from pain and experienced immense improvements to her quality of life. This started a transformative journey for her and marked the beginning of a deeper connection of body, mind and spirit.
Certifications | Education
Carly’s exploration of yoga and meditation took a significant turn when she realized her practice was not only providing a physical benefit but also alleviating stress and anxiety. In 2018, she took her dedication to the next level by completing a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and 50-hour Aerial YTT in Melbourne, Australia. With this newfound knowledge, Carly immediately began teaching and has continued her education through various modules and training, such as 40-hours in both Pranayama and Ayurveda and a 50-hour Mindfulness Based Yoga Therapy immersion. Her teaching portfolio now includes numerous Aerial Yoga levels and styles including low fabric, tricks and flips, and kids’ aerial yoga, as well as hatha and restorative yoga, mat and chair classes for older beginners, and grief and trauma-informed practices.
Pinch of Personality
Carly is currently pursuing a 500-hour yoga therapy certification through Yoga Medicine. It is her goal to deepen her understanding of yoga’s therapeutic applications and inspire others to find their own paths to well-being. Carly continues to blend her personal healing journey with her teaching, encouraging students to get curious about their breath and embrace their practice as a catalyst for deeper exploration, connection and transformation.
