What is Botox?
Botox is a neurotoxin that has been used for over 20 years by medical professionals for cosmetic and medical purposes.
How is Botox Used?
For cosmetic purposes Botox is injected into muscles to stop movement and smooth wrinkles on the face. The most common areas that are treated are the forehead, crows feet (wrinkles around the eyes) and the Glabella- known as “the 11’s” in between the eyebrows. Botox can also be used to help “gummy” smiles, vertical upper lip lines, to lift the corners of the mouth, platysmal neck bands, to create a brow lift and to help dimpling in the chin.
Some other off label uses of Botox would be to treat excessive sweating under the arms, TMJ and migraines.
What to expect at your appointment at MB Fit Studio and how long does it last?
The appointment at MB Fit Studio generally takes around 15 minutes depending on how many areas you are treating. A very tiny needle is used along with ice to minimize discomfort and bruising. Botox sets in within 7-10 days and lasts on average 3 months.
How to prepare for my Botox appointment at MB Fit Studio?
For 3 days prior to your appointment you want to avoid anything that would thin your blood to help prevent bruising. This would include aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol and fish oils.
What is aftercare of Botox?
Do not lie down flat for 4 hours post treatment, no heavy exercise or excessive sweating for 4 hours and do not apply pressure to your face for the remainder of the day.
Also avoid facials, massages or laser treatments for one week post treatment.

To receive Botox from our nurses, as a new patient you will have a quick virtual 5 minute appointment with a Physician Assistant. This is only necessary for the first visit and will not be required for future appointments. Once approved you will be able to book an appointment with one of our nurses at MB Fit Studio.
